The HP Officejet H470 could be convenient if for some reason you need a nearly full-size printer that comes with a vinyl carrying case with no handle or place for cables, and that can run off a battery and connect wirelessly or via Bluetooth. But since I’m having trouble identifying when precisely you’d need that combination, and since the pHP Officejet H470 rinter is slow, expensive, and seems error prone, I’d spend the same amount of money that doesn’t offer battery power and a nifty vinyl case but gives faster, better prints.

The Officejet H470 comes with a detachable Lithium-ion battery on the back of the device. In the interest of saving paper, we didn’t test the battery life, but HP says the device can print 480 pages per full charge. Considering how little power printers use on average (40 Watts maximum on this device), we see no reason to dispute this figure.

The warranty on the HP Office Jet H470 is one year, which is standard for an SMB device, but not generous considering its price.

Wireless Portable Printing from iTouch & iPAD – SOLVED! By An Amazon Customer (USA)
Very happy with this HP Officejet H470 printer, & this is the only portable way to print with an iPad (or iTouch). I have a Virgin Mobile MIFI 3G wireless hotspot. I needed a portable printer to carry in my briefcase to work everyday. I can’t hook up personal peripherals to the work network but I needed a printer, & I couldn’t leave the printer at work overnight either.

I don’t find Apple’s solution of buying these huge printers to use their Airprint logistically feasible – those printers are HUGE! In addition, there are no apps that support printing via Bluetooth either, so this was the only portable printing solution for a iTouch or iPad. I am using the iPad app PrintCentralPro to work with this printer. Portable printing with iPAD – SOLVED!
